In praise of student journalism

I spent last night at the Guardian Student Media Awards in Shoreditch. Sadly, our student newspaper Varsity didn’t scoop the ‘Best Newspaper’ award it was nominated for, but it was a fantastic evening, and almost worth going for the free bar and canapés alone.
